NRINest (βNRINestβ, βweβ, βusβ, βourβ) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, our legal bases under the EU/Irish GDPR, and how you can exercise your rights. NRINest is the data controller for the processing described here.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email, phone (optional), city, avatar, chosen display identity.
- Content you create: listings, messages, reviews, group posts, images.
- Usage & device data: pages viewed, actions, approximate location (from IP), device/browser, cookies and similar technologies.
- Transaction & preference data: interests, saved items, enrolments, provider applications, and (where applicable) limited billing metadata handled by our payment processor.
2. Why we use it, and our legal bases
- To provide the Platform and your account β performance of a contract.
- To keep the Platform safe, prevent fraud/abuse and secure our systems β legitimate interests and legal obligation.
- To personalise your feed and remember preferences β legitimate interests, or consent where required.
- Analytics and product improvement β legitimate interests or consent.
- Marketing communications β consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
3. Sharing
We share data with service providers who host and run the Platform (e.g. cloud, email, analytics, payments) under contract; with other users only as needed for a feature you use (e.g. your chosen chat identity when you message a seller); and with authorities where legally required. We do not sell your personal data.
4. International transfers
Where data is processed outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as European Commission adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or to meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your account and data (see GDPR & your data).
6. Security
We use technical and organisational measures β encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring and least-privilege practices β to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; we ask you to protect your credentials and report concerns.
7. Your rights
You have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, port and object to processing of your data, and to withdraw consent. See GDPR & your data for how to exercise them and how to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.
8. Cookies & children
We use cookies as described in our Cookie Policy. The Platform is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
